A Whimsical Wedding Cake That Inspires & Entwines The Stationery Details!

When a bride falls in love with her wedding cake, that inspiration may carry into all her other wedding details! This was true for a bride I had worked with a few months ago. From the start, this bride knew exactly what she wanted and provided me with a photo image of her wedding cake. She even gave me the CMYK colors and font type that was used on her actual wedding invitations.  All these very important and specific details were incorporated into her custom table cards and escort cards.  The cake detailing entailed abstract flowers, spiraling vines, and leaflets. Go figure, this wonderful, whimsical, white iced wedding cake, with vibrant orange floral detailing, would win her heart!
With her heart "sold", she desired to have her stationery details for the reception to reflect this exact look and "feel".  From that one photo, I digitally re-created a close-to-perfect replication of her wedding cake graphics, which was used to create her custom table cards and escort cards.  These items were printed on white matte cardstock with graphics in orange and text in dark purple.  The spiraling floral graphics artistically entwine to the backside of the escort card as well. The table cards are tented and layered with orange matte cardstock. The vertical, upright form of the escort card is exemplified, as they were elegantly displayed in a formal linear setup making for a very bold statement and great tablescape.
Along with the tented table numbers at each table, two separate tent cards were made for other side tables at her reception. These cards were titled "Guest Book" and "Cards".  I loved her modern take to the guest book, which was a large, white, ceramic plate, entirely signed by all her guests. This piece is both decorative and functional I believe! I also loved her modern take to the card box, which was a whimsical and elegant bird cage!

A Wedding Invitation That Exemplifies Black, Gold, Regal, Luxurious, And Damask!

With a fabulous destination wedding in Hawaii, you gotta have FABULOUS wedding invitations! It was true for this special bride!  Black, gold, regal, luxurious, and damask, were her exact words! On top of that, she wanted her custom wedding invitations to be a gift boxed set!  And when a client tells me to just "run with it!", it's the greatest feeling in the world! As a designer, this is "THE" top reason why I love my job!

Her custom handcrafted gift boxed wedding invitation is full of great details including vintage medallions, satin ribbon, feathers, decorative vellum, metallic cardstocks, and custom graphics. The black and gold color theme was spiced up with a "pop" of bright fuchsia/bright magenta-purple. This accent color was used as a feather detail which was placed on the outer box with a belly band box wrap. The belly band wrap is a fully customized print that features a graphic pattern and a custom personalized monogram that I designed. This box detail wraps around the entire lid and continues the detail on the inside of the box as well.
Gift boxed invitations are a great way to make an impression! From first glance, to opening the gift box, to then experiencing the cards inside, these are all the events your guests will enjoy with a gift boxed invitation!
At first glance, their eyes widen with excitement! Remember, first impressions are last impressions! Then they open the extravagant box to reveal a regal invitation that has a vintage medallion that says "WOW"! Then they will untie the other cards and enjoy the entire set as each piece sparkles in gold metallic! A simple black matte box transformed into an extravagant gift boxed invitation!
This custom order was very unique, as each invite set featured a different medallion embellishment! All the great medallions reflected the same great look with all the black and gold details seen in each. The medallion as the focal point of the invitation card, was followed with a regal script font and custom damask graphics in black. The invitation card is detailed with many layers.  The print is layered with a decorative vellum, gold metallic cardstock, and backed with thick black matte board. The custom damask graphics are used through out the set on all the enclosure cards, which included an RSVP card, directions card, and a post-celebration card.
The enclosure cards are elegantly tied to the lid of the box with a black satin ribbon. All cards are printed on gold metallic cardstock. With a fabulous destination wedding, it's a "must" to have a directions card. Having knowledge of the exact driving route to each of the wedding events, will help your guests feel more relaxed.
Each gift boxed invitation set will have to be gift wrapped and postage will need to be placed. This is another fun detail that you get to play with once you receive your invites and get them ready to mail out. You can use whatever fun gift wrap you want. For this set, I show a sample of the final packaged invite wrapped in gold metallic wrapping paper. All gift boxed invitations come with a matching custom mailing label.  For this set, the label is printed on gold metallic cardstock. This detail is attached with double-sided tape and placed on the box after its wrapped. A matching typical sized address label is also designed and provided for the RSVP envelopes!
